Haircolor! A favortie topic of mine... |
|
There are three hair colors-blonde, brunette and red--but oh the shades
and possibilities in each!
Lets begin with whether you are a warm or a cool person. Now, I don't mean cool as in 'cool, man'. I mean that you can have a warm or a cool complexion or skin tone. Warm people usually have a yellow or gold undertone. Cool people usually have a bluish or violet undertone. (a 'cool' can look warm when there are freckles!) If you can't tell by looking, I'll give you an easy at-home way of telling. Get a pure white(cool) and a cream(warm) t-shirt. When you try each on, you will be able to see right away which one you look best in. Be sure to pull your hair back off your face and wear no makeup. Now, are your eyes warm or cool. That's easy. Blue eyes are cool. Brown eyes are warm. If your eyes have red or yellow flecks, they are warm. Warm people look best wearing such shades as ivory, orangey / reds, lime green, teal green. Cool people look great in white, burgundy /reds, mint green, forest green |

Blonde - Let's talk about blondes first. What is it about light hair that is so appealing? Is it perhaps that many of us had lighter hair as a child? Light hair brings out our skin, rather than dark hair, which brings out our lips and eyes(which is why many people feel more comfortable going lighter as they age, since wrinkles develop around the lips and eyes!) Blonde shades of haircolor range from the warm buttery blondes to the cool platinums. Your eye color and skintone must be taken into account when deciding on your shade and level of color. At Hair at 731, we love to introduce our customers to lighter shades with our Eye Enhancing Hilites. This opens up the eye area and it is also a great way to satisfy the teenage craving for sun lightened hair. Please, no experimenting with color at home--it could lead to disasters, and the quality and condition of your hair will suffer. But, on the up side, it's great to be a haircolor mishap corrector. Face framers are our next step in hilite techniques. We design them to accentuate your haircut. The Bermuda and Caribbean hilites make you look like you have been on the island for a week or a month. All hilites are sealed with a shine-enhancing glaze. |
| Brunettes are very hot this year, and no wonder, when the colors range from cool walnut to warm cinnamon. You can wear a cool brown color accentuated with warm coppery face framers--the best of both worlds! | ![]() |

Red -auburn-mahagony-strawberry-chesnut----
there are so many choices in the red family. The warm reds are the natural
shades. The cool reds are the funky shades. We would never give a
'classic linen suit and pumps ' woman a cool purple haircolor. And our trendy
dramatic customer would never settle for a natural auburn haircolor! So many
things must be looked at when choosing haircolor. But the one thing to
remember is that you are never 'stuck' with a haircolor. Hair at 731 has The Electronic Master or Herbie (as we affectionately call it) to enable our customers to get their haircolor and perms processed in 1/4 the time! Herbie leaves the hair in great condition. Yes, now you can get a haircolor on your lunch hour. |
